Center 为 Racial and Restorative Justice

The Center 为 Racial and Restorative Justice, a clearinghouse 为 research, 奖学金, 宣传和行动, aims to educate students and our communities about the history of race in America and the barriers to upward mobility 为 people of color in areas such as education, 刑事司法, 卫生保健, 商务, 和住房.

Through a multipronged approach, the center will ensure that UW-Eau Claire is preparing graduates 为 life in a truly changing landscape. Understanding the concepts of race, 正义, 股本, 平等, 恢复性司法, and critical identity theories will help our graduates stand above their counterparts as well as become leaders in ongoing social and cultural change.

Strategic goals 为 the center

The center’s approach to preparing graduates 为 life has several strategic goals as its centerpiece 为 social and cultural change:

• Provide a space 为 research on race to advance and enhance a comprehensive UW-Eau Claire education.
• Develop a body of research, 奖学金, advocacy, and action regarding Indigenous Peoples.
• Present speakers, researchers, and practitioners on the topics of race.
• 协调, 开发, and implement university-wide trainings, 研讨会, and engagement opportunities to enhance critical understandings of race and 正义.
• Secure funding to support strategic and operational initiatives that advance the impact of the center.
• Provide opportunities 为 student engagement to create sustainable change.
• Sponsor mentoring and professional 开发ment opportunities 为 students of color to ensure they are prepared 为 success and leadership in various settings.

奔向正义

“奔向正义” is a priority program of the Center 为 Racial and Restorative Justice. The program features speakers on topics of race and social in正义 and provides micro grants 为 student programs or initiatives committed to advancing racial 正义.
